Thank you Nina, most my work starts as a graphite drawing like this. Then I take it to many other mediums. :)

Mayhem, if you go to my blog page: http://fineartamerica.com/blogs/stipple-or-pointillism.html it explains the difference between the two: stipple is black and white dots, creating and image and pointillism is using color dots. let me know what you think of my dealing with the two blog. take care and keep on drawing you are very talented. Stay in touch ... Cheers! Lucien

Well thank you very much for your compliments and your critics. I greatly appreciate it! And yes it should of been a little darker in the neck area. Now i have a good question, I always thought that using the little dots only is called Pointilism and stippling was the sraping of material to show the material beneath, usually done in lines? When I do my large animals I try to use the pencil to create the texture f the hair and try to cover the whole area with seperate lines for the hair. I do almost use a pointilism technique, however not by choice. I am rated at amputation of my right hand and left thumb. So it is how i have to hold the pencil or pen or tape it to my hand, that makes this technique work for me and my dexterity. :) I am glad you like it! All my work statrs with a graphite like this, Usually 100+ hours, then I take it to a pointilism or a sillhouette or painting. Did you see the Same jaq and the Bengal tiger in pointilism?

hello, as you can see i finally made it over to your page. i like the partial composition of the jaguars head, the pencil work is very well done, nice control of the pencil in this and the way you applied the lines. I am thinking that there should be darker area behind the head in the neck area to create more depth there, but overall very effective drawing. even though this is not stippling, I think you should do some rodeo drawings using the stippling technique. I will be back to look at some of your other work as time allows ( like look for one of your stipple drawings)... cheers! Lucien
